Known
for its pristine white sand beaches & located 30 km/18 mi northwest of Powell
River, Savary Island is the perfect
getaway for the discerning traveler.
Cottage
for Rent
Our cottage is nestled among old growth cedar and firs on Vancouver
Boulevard, a short walk above sunset trail, between the Meadows and Indian Point.
  Although
one may not feel the need to leave the privacy of the sunny back deck, Savary's
beaches beckon. A
couple of hundred meters down the "road" you will find a rather rocky
beach, but a short stroll along the foreshore trail on your left will lead you
to the beautiful and popular Meadows beach. This sandy beach continues for kilometers
along the precipitous south shore sand cliffs. The very popular Indian Point beaches
are roughly a 20 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride down the hill along Savary's
main road. Not too far away on the North side of the Island, a trail
will take you down a steep slope where you will find clams, oysters, and locations
for private sunbathing, Savary's treasures don't end here either.
Let the cottage be your
home base for exploring the entire island.
After a day in the sun it is time for a hot shower and food on the propane
bbq. The kitchen is complete with a large fridge, stove, cook-wear, utensils,
and tea towels. Our cottage has one bedroom (queen) and two lofts (one with a
double bed and the other with a queen size bed). There is also a futon couch in
the comfortable sunken living room.
As
Savary Island is not serviced by BC Hydro, our cottage is serviced by an "on demand
propane" generator, solar panels, deep cycle batteries and inverter that allows
for lights and electrical outlets. Water, plumbing, private phone line and electricity!
Modern necessities we take for granted in town yet find so luxurious on this non-serviced
island! The Mint Teahouse is conveniently located nearby.
